If you really must have a purple MM, go and feed the shrine on Dragon Keep. You will get one fairly quickly usually.

I don't know where you have been farming for days but I suggest you change locations and head to Dragon Keep and try there.@Sam. MM's can drop at any level in UVHM, can drop in TVHM and in Normal. Blue are more common, but I have seen level 35 purple x4's.Level isn't that important really, the MM is all about seeking out and slagging enemies, and a low level one will work just as well as a high level one for this. It does cause damage, but it isn't really a grenade you use for damage - it is a slagger.

It also regens grenades for you, which is nice.-edit - Here is where you get enemies that can drop purple MM's. Just dump any excess cr@p on the shrine, one item at a time, yadda yadda.There are several (possible mimic) chests in the area for additional stuff to throw on the shrine. When you feed an item to the shrine, you can have several responses - money, eridium, a 'rare item', 'these chumps', 'a badass to fight a badass', 'a badass because I hate you'. The badass wizards spawned here do drop purple MM's - see the dead wizard in the black robe in my screenshot.

They won't drop a purple MM every time, but they do drop them. The MM in my screenshot dropped fairly quickly - 4th or 5th attempt iirc.The shrine is activated by using the button at the back initially.
